The Black Drift by Mark Voss

THE BLACK DRIFT

A satirical space opera with rogue gravity, pirate grudges, and clones who might be original.

IN THE DRIFT, TIME BENDS, MEMORY CHEATS... AND YOUR WORST ENEMY MIGHT BE YOURSELF.

The crew of The Meridian thought they were answering a distress signal.
They found a rogue gravity field swallowing ships, a clone who swears he’s Rask, and a pirate captain demanding repayment—in organs.

Welcome to the Black Drift.

Time fractures. Memory loops. Reality forgets what it's supposed to be doing. And if the crew doesn’t get out fast, they might not get out as themselves.

To make matters worse, an old rival is back with a grudge, an unstable doomsday device, and a fleet held together by debt and spite. Lyra’s hallucinating her past. Pax is bluffing an ancient AI. Kevin is bonding with a sentient jellyfish. And Rask is being haunted—by himself.

The only way out is through.
Assuming the Drift doesn’t decide to keep them.
